Recently Bocimar expanded its fleet with five newbuilding Capesize units that will all be built by Imabari (Japan). It concerns four 206.000 dwt units: two fully-owned scheduled for delivery in the first and second quarters of 2016 and two ships taken on time charter for a period of ten years scheduled for delivery in the second and third quarters of 2015. The fifth ship, a 180.000 dwt vessel, will be owned in joint venture with National Coal Supply Corporation (NCSC), a fully-owned subsidiary of the Israeli Electric Corporation. NCSC has chartered the vessel for a period of ten years.
Bocimar also exercised its option to acquire a further two newbuilding Handysize vessels. This brings the total number of ships on order with Samjin to 12 units.
In the course of December the Group entered into a joint venture with the Luxembourg shipping company CLdN Cobelfret to acquire two 19.500 dwt newbuilding stainless steel chemical carriers. The ships were ordered at the Japanese yard Kitanihon and are scheduled for delivery in the course of the third quarter of 2015 and the first quarter of 2016. The order also includes an option for the acquisition of a third unit.
